The 23-year-old shot-stopper, who played a crucial role in Espanyol’s promotion to La Liga, has caught the eye of several Premier League clubs, but it appears that Arsenal is now leading the race for his signature.

Garcia’s performances last season were nothing short of impressive, helping his team secure a return to Spain’s top division. His ability to command the box, coupled with his shot-stopping prowess, quickly made him a target for clubs looking to bolster their goalkeeping options.

Early reports suggested that Tottenham were the frontrunners, with the North London club seemingly keen to bring in the young Spaniard as they plan for the future.

Sources such as Grada 3 had even claimed that Spurs had launched an offer for Garcia, and the player himself was reportedly tempted by the prospect of joining the club.

However, journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Arsenal have now moved ahead in the race to sign Garcia.

According to Romano, the goalkeeper has already agreed on personal terms with the Gunners and is ready to make the switch to the Emirates Stadium if Arsenal’s current first-choice goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale, departs before the transfer window closes.

This move could be a setback for Tottenham, who were likely considering Garcia as a long-term option, possibly to start as a third-choice keeper behind Guglielmo Vicario and Fraser Forster.

With Garcia seemingly heading to Arsenal, Tottenham’s goalkeeping plans are in flux. Now, they’re reportedly eyeing Tommaso Martinelli from Fiorentina, a young keeper with a lot of potential who could be a great fit for them.

This shift in focus suggests that Spurs are still keen on securing a young talent for their goalkeeping ranks, even if Garcia appears to be heading elsewhere.
