Justice Ariwoola served as a Justice of the Court of Appeal in the Kaduna, Enugu, and Lagos divisions before his elevation to the Supreme Court in 2011.

He was appointed Chief Justice of Nigeria in 2022, during which time he held various significant judicial roles.

In a statement released on Thursday evening by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, the President praised the eminent jurist for his dedicated service to the nation.

Tinubu acknowledged Justice Ariwoola’s impactful leadership of the judiciary, his contributions to enriching Nigerian jurisprudence, and his role in strengthening the foundation of the law in the country.

“The President thanks Justice Ariwoola and wishes him the very best for the future,” he said.

Ajuri Ngelale also stated that President Tinubu will swear in Justice Ariwoola’s successor at the State House Council Chambers on August 23, 2024.
