They were talking. They were meeting. He gave her interview opportunities of which I was aware but when my friend started sleeping with my girlfriend, I didn’t see it coming. I found out from my friend’s phone. I was with him one late evening when my girlfriend called him. Her picture was displayed on his iPhone. Before he could hide his screen, I’d already seen it.
I followed it up from my girlfriend’s phone. That was when I found out that they started having an affair just a week after introducing them. They had been intimate. Severally. They talked about it freely. They discussed me often. It was an insult, the way they talked about me.
I loved my girlfriend. I talked to her about it and she confessed that she did it because of the job he was helping her to get. She asked for forgiveness and promised not to do it again.
I confronted my friend. He denied the affair even when I’d shown him evidence. I asked him to stop helping and begged him to stay away from my girlfriend.
I forgave my girlfriend and started the healing process. It was tough but the toughest about the whole thing was when I found out that they didn’t stop seeing each other.
My girlfriend had a job. She told me the job had nothing to do with my friend. She lied. She got the job through him. When I reacted she called me insecure and broke up with me. Currently, she’s seeing my friend. All my other friends know about it and they tease me very often.
I will never go all out to help a woman. You put yourself down for their good and they step on your back, break your spine and act entitled; “If I don’t break it, who will?”
