The young boy reportedly passed away on Thursday morning, just days after the transplant procedure. Since birth, he had endured severe pain caused by sickle cell anemia.

On social media, Dawakin-Tofa confirmed the tragic loss of his son, attributing it to complications that followed the surgery. Sadiq is expected to be laid to rest in Dawakin Tofa in accordance with Islamic rites over the weekend.

In a heartfelt post, the grieving father wrote: “This morning, I lost my first child, Sadiq (Modibbo) Bature at the age of 15. He lived as a good, brilliant, and obedient child.

“Throughout his life, Modibbo struggled with sickle cell anemia. After undergoing a successful bone marrow transplant this month in an Indian hospital, he sadly passed due to post-surgery complications affecting his brain.

“Our beloved Saddiku’s body will be brought home in the coming days for burial in my hometown, Dawakin-Tofa. Date and time will be announced upon his remains’ arrival.”

The passing of young Sadiq has continued to draw condolences from friends, colleagues, and political associates of Dawakin-Tofa, all praying for the repose of the boy’s soul.
