1. The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has won all the chairmanship and councillorship seats in all the 30 local government areas of Osun State. The Chairman of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, OSIEC, Hashim Abioye, announced the result at a briefing on Saturday in Osogbo.

2. Five persons were confirmed dead in Edo State on Saturday. Edo Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Moses Yamu, said four persons were also injured in the clash between cocoa farmers and alleged thieves at Gbelemotin in Ovia Southwest Local Government Area.

3. Pope Francis’s condition “continues to be critical”, the Vatican said Saturday, saying the 88-year-old was alert but had suffered a respiratory attack that required “high-flow oxygen”, and also blood transfusions.

4. Fire razed down a booster station belonging to telecommunications giant, MTN, beside the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Ibadan, on Saturday, an official has confirmed. Yemi Akinyinka, General Manager of Oyo State Fire Services Agency, disclosed this in a statement in Ibadan.

5. The Peoples Democratic Party has dismissed claims that it conducted its South-South Zonal Congress, stating that a reported gathering in Calabar, Cross River State, was not an official event of the party. This was disclosed in a statement on Saturday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba.

6. At least 12 passengers lost their lives in a fatal accident on Saturday along the Lapai-Agaie Road in Niger State. Eyewitnesses said the crash occurred at Nami village following a head-on collision between a Wemer passenger bus carrying 15 people and a trailer. The victims included eight men and four women, three of whom were reportedly from the same family.

7. The Department of State Services, DSS, arrested three persos for assault on its officers during the crisis in the Lagos State House of Assembly on February 17, The Nation gathered on Saturday. 9. President Bola Tinubu on Saturday launched the completed and ongoing 24km section, alongside the upcoming 48km section, of the Lagos-Ibadan dual carriageway. These include Section One and the Lagos-Sagamu route in Lagos and Ogun, Phase Two.

10. Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has pledged to collaborate with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control to eliminate fake, substandard, and adulterated drugs from the market. Soludo made the promise on Saturday in Onitsha while addressing traders of Ogbo Ogwu and surrounding markets, which were recently shut down by NAFDAC for dealing in counterfeit and expired drugs.
