When Ato tried to separate the fight, he held me by the hand and tried to pull me away. That gave the lady an advantage to throw free punches at me. When I screamed at him to leave me, he left my hand and walked out of the room.

I did my best, but the girl was stronger. She hit like a fighter even when I was biting her. So I took a bottle and hurled it at her. She dodged, and it hit the TV screen, breaking it into pieces. He came inside only when he heard about the TV. The girl said I did it. I denied it and pointed at her. I stormed out of the room, came to my house to cry—not about the fight but about how a boyfriend could leave me in the hands of a tigress to be beaten to a pulp.

When he came to see me, it was all about the TV and how I’d destroyed it with my jealousy. Now, he’s telling me to contribute to buying a new TV since it was my fault that the TV got broken.

“Herh, Ato, I swear you’ll never know peace in your life for what you’ve done to me. You should be lucky I broke your TV and not your good-for-nothing life.”

I thought a broke man’s love was pure until I met Ato. I thought we could build a life today so someday we could enjoy. While I gave him money, my all, and cooked meals for him for free, he had the energy to date a tigress. Now he’s here asking me to contribute to buying him a new TV.
