The two-day programme scheduled to hold at Liberty Stadium, Ibadan from Friday, 14th March, 2025 at 3 O’clock in the afternoon through Saturday 15th March 2025 at noon is an interdenominational evangelical programme expected to host thousands of worshippers across Oyo state and environs.
Addressing journalists during a press conference in Ibadan, chairman, organizing committee and Pastor In Charge of RCCG Region 42, Pastor Jide Ojurongbe who spoke through Pastor Ezekiel Afolayan, the RCCG Assistant Continental Overseer and Pastor in charge of Region 21 said all logistics have been put in place for the success of the programme.
Pastor Ojurongbe who allayed any fear of security breech said all security agencies in the state including officers of the police force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Amotekun, Federal Road Safety Corps, DSS and the church’s security team will be positioned in strategic areas within and around the venue to forestall any breakdown of law and order.
The clergy also hinted that arrangements have been concluded with the Oyo state ministry of health through the Ministry’s commissioner, Dr. Oluwaserimi Adetunmobi, for adequate provision of medical personnel and facilities.
While explaining that the “Light Up Ibadan” was organized to win more souls to Christ in celebration of the 83rd birthday of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Pastor Ojurongbe said the programme is unique because it’s interdenominational, driven by the youths and was organized for divine transformation on Nigeria’s security and socio economic development.
He said “The programme is not just about RCCG, it is interdenominational. You can see that men of God, some of whom are daddy G.O’s sons, from other Christian denominations are ministering”
“They are not just coming to sit on the podium, they have been assigned to handle different sections during the programme. Prophet Hezekiah Oladeji is of the Christ Apostolic Church, Pastor Epaphras Odekunle is ministering, Pastor Femi Emmanuel among other. Everybody is invited and expected “
“The programme has been held successfully in some states of the federation, including Lagos, Gombe, Jos, Sokoto and Maiduguri” he said.
He said the programme will feature, healing, salvation, deliverance, miracles and father’s blessings on Ibadan land, Oyo state and Nigeria in general, using the opportunity of the ongoing 100 days fasting of the church to ensure residents of the state are blessed.
He added that free buses will be made available at strategic locations within Ibadan metropolis to convey people to the programme
Others ministers are the press conference were Pst Oluwarotimi Adegborioye, assistant Pastor in charge of Region 42, Pastor Wale Popoola, Assistant Pastor in charge of Region 21, Pastor Adebola Adeleye, pastor in charge of Province, Oyo 19, Pastor Segun Olatunji, pastor in charge of Province, Oyo 10.
Others are Pastor Awobode, Oyo Province 11; Pastor Anifowose, Oyo Province 7; Pastor Owoeye, Light Up Lagos among others.
