According to the Chairman of the Forum, and Senator representing Katsina Central (APC), Abdul Aziz Yar’adua, “Small businesses are struggling to operate, hospitals are facing increased running costs, and livelihoods are being severely impacted.”
Calling on the federal government to urgently restore power in the affected areas, Senator Yar’adua in a statement urged that priority should focus “repairs on the Shiroro-Kaduna transmission lines to restore reliable power supply.
“Implement measures to prevent future vandalism and protect power infrastructure.
Back KEDCO’s initiatives for renewable energy and Mini Grid solutions to provide sustainable power options.”
This is as the Forum acknowledged what it described as “the progress made in power distribution under the current administration and appreciates efforts to improve the sector.”
The statement however insisted on the urgent need to alleviate the sufferings caused by the situation, as well as to revitalize economic activities in the areas.
