The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced the addition of 15 new trade-oriented subjects to the basic education curriculum, aiming to enhance students’ practical skills and employability.
According to a statement by the National Orientation Agency (NOA) on Friday, January 24, these subjects will be introduced in primary and junior secondary schools nationwide starting January 2025. The updated curriculum is designed to equip students with hands-on experience and technical knowledge.

1. Plumbing
2. Hairstyling
3. Makeup
4. POP Installation
5. Tiling and Floor Works
6. Event Decoration and Management
7. Bakery and Confectioneries
8. Satellite/TV Antenna Installation
9. Solar Installation and Maintenance
10. Garment Making
11. Interior Design
12. GSM Repairs
13. Agriculture and Processing (including crop production, beekeeping, and horticulture)
14. Livestock Farming (e.g., poultry and rabbit rearing)
15. Basic Digital Literacy (including IT and robotics)
