The programme is initiated to implement the vision of the Progressive Young Farmers Network/Cooperative Society, recently inaugurated by Abdullahi Sabi Aliyu, the Minister of State for Agriculture, during the APC Progressive Young Leaders Summit organised by the APC National Youth Leader, Dr. Dayo Israel,
The youth-led initiative is aimed at revolutionising the agricultural landscape by equipping young farmers with the tools and knowledge necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving industry.
In line with the vision of the office of the National Youth Leader, in collaboration with Galaxy Inter Link and the Progressive Young Farmers Network, the organisers expressed excitment to announce a groundbreaking two-day training session on agribusiness and sustainable agricultural practices.
According to a press statement made available to journalists on Monday, the event, is scheduled for Tuesday, September 10 to Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 10am.
“This intensive training programme is tailored for young farmers and agriculture enthusiasts eager to revolutionize their farming practices. Participants will gain hands-on experience and insights in three key areas:
“Water Harvesting for Smart Agriculture: Learn cutting-edge water management techniques essential for modern, efficient farming.
“Integrated Farming Systems for Sustainable Agriculture: Explore innovative methods that combine various farming practices to boost productivity and sustainability.
“Modern Farming Techniques for Sustainable and Improved Agriculture: Discover the latest technologies and methods to enhance agricultural output while prioritizing environmental stewardship.”
The office noted that the event will be hosted at a venue in Yaba, Lagos, to be disclosed to selected participants.
