Olowo represented Somolu State Constituency I in the state Assembly between 2007 and 2023, spanning four terms and totalling a total of 16 years.
Sharpnews can also revealed that Olowo was Chairman of various committees consider as juicy when he was in the House such as Finance, Budget/Appropriation and Local Government Affairs committees.
He left the House of Assembly in 2023 after failing to win the ticket for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Sharpnews learnt that Olowo has already commenced consultations and meetings with his supporters and political leaders.
“He has even been visiting Governance Advisory Council (GAC) members soliciting for their support and blessings,” Sharpnews learnt.
However, this medium learnt exclusively that most APC members in his constituency are not favourably disposed towards Olowo’s latest ambition.
“This is a man who has spent 16 consecutive years in the House of Assembly. Does it mean the constituency don’t have quality politicians to represent it? He should just leave the stage for others. Spending 16 years in the House of Assembly is no mean feat, he should savour that,” Adebola Adejare, a resident of Somolu told Sharpnews
Some members of the party in the constituency have vowed not to support Olowo’s aspiration.
“He has had enough, let him savour that,” an aggrieved member of the party told our correspondent.
