Donald Trump Victory: Obama Kicks, Says its Not Over

Barack Obama‘s statement, pinned on his X handle, comes after Trump had given his electoral victory speech.

Obama supported the Democrats candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris.

“It took several days to count every ballot in 2020, and it’s very likely we won’t know the outcome tonight either. So please keep a few things in mind as you make your voice heard today:

“Thousands of election workers around the country are working hard today. Respect them. Thank them.

“Don’t share things before checking your sources.

“Let the process run its course. It takes time to count every ballot,” Obama wrote.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi; the President of the European Union, Ursula Von Der Leyen; and the Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz, have joined other world leaders to congratulate Trump.

In his message, India’s Modi wrote, “Heartiest congratulations my friend Donald Trump on your historic election victory. As you build on the successes of your previous term, I look forward to renewing our collaboration to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership.

“Together, let’s work for the betterment of our people and to promote global peace, stability and prosperity.”

Germany’s Chancellor, Scholz, said he was ready to work with Trump. “I congratulate Donald Trump on his election as US President. Germany and the USA have been working together successfully for a long time to promote prosperity and freedom on both sides of the Atlantic. We will continue to do so for the benefit of our citizens,” Scholz said.

On her part, EU President, Leyen, stated, “I warmly congratulate Donald J. Trump.

“The EU and the US are more than just allies. We are bound by a true partnership between our people, uniting 800 million citizens.

“So let’s work together on a strong transatlantic agenda that keeps delivering for them.”
