Defunct CPC Youth Leaders Task Abbas, Bago, To Rally Support For Tinubu

They specifically called on Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Governor Umar Bago of Niger State, Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State, National and State Assembly members, as well as Local Government elective officers of CPC background to Tinubu/Shettima ticket and fully throw their weight behind the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima leadership ahead of the general elections.

Rising from a meeting held in Abuja at the weekend, the former youth leaders said the support is crucial for a the party’s victory in 2027.

In a statement made available to Blueprint, Sunday in Abuja, signed by the former youth leaders in Kogi and Imo, Prince Sani Ogu Salisu and Prince Iyke Uwakwe, respectively, also called on the stakeholders to join hands with the Al-Makura-led stakeholders to reposition and strengthen the party for the challenges ahead.

“The defunct CPC State Youth Leaders from the 6 geopolitical zones of the country met extensively in Abuja over the weekend to discuss the future of our great party and the nation.

“After thorough deliberation, we unanimously resolved to call on key stakeholders of the CPC bloc in the APC to support the Senator Al-Makura-led stakeholders’ discussions aimed at restructuring the APC.

” We urge the Hon. Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Gov Umar Bago of Niger State, Gov Dikko Radda of Katsina State, National and State Assembly Members, as well as Local Government elective officers of CPC background

“By supporting the Tinubu/Shettima administration, we can ensure continuity and progress in national development initiatives.”

While calling for promotion of internal democracy, the forum said cohesion, and peaceful coexistence among party members are key to victory in 2027.

“We believe that collective action and support for the Al-Makura-led stakeholders’ discussions will strengthen our party and position us for greater electoral success.

“We urge all stakeholders to join hands with us to build a stronger APC and a brighter future for Nigeria as the Youth Leaders were charged by the National Youth Leader of the legacy party Hon. Abubakar Maikudi to go back to their various states and mobilize supports for APC in the forthcoming elections.”
