Tsafe spoke in an interview with newsmen in Talata Mafara, shortly after inspecting the school’s facilities with members of the council and the management team of the polytechnic.

He said the school lacks toilet facilities while the hostels are not in good condition.

“We will ensure that the infrastructures are renovated, we will also make sure that students would be very comfortable at Abdu Gusau Polytechnic,” he added.

“With all these problems identified in this school, we will urge the state government to do needful, we will also appeal for funds.”

Tsafe further disclosed that the committee will make sure that law and order, and industrial harmony are followed in the school.

Also Speaking, the Rector of Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Dr. Surajo Abdullahi Shinkafi, expressed happiness over the visit by the Governing Council of the school.

“They went round the school and we showed them the dilapidated facilities and other challenges that need urgent government attention.”

The rector explained that the polytechnic is meant to train moderate manpower for the development of the nation, and also empower students with skills to become employers and not employees.

His Royal Highness, Emir of Mafara, Alhaji Muhammad Barmo, participated in the inspection.
