Recall that Trump had on Monday paused military aid to Ukraine after his clash with Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy last Friday.
This is coming after Trump upended US policy on Ukraine and Russia upon taking office in January.
Speaking on the development, Merezhko described Trump’s decision as unbelievable.
“It’s unbelievable what is unfolding because I couldn’t imagine in my worst dreams that Trump would be cutting off military aid to Ukraine when we need it so much,” Merezhko told BBC’s Newsday.
“I think Mr Trump should seriously think about how he’s going to enter in history.
“To me, it’s a date that will go down in history infamy.”
Trump had paused military aid to Ukraine after his recent clash with Zelenskyy.

But the White House is yet to make any comment on the scope and amount of aid affected or how long the pause would last.
