In a statement, JOSTUM’s Registrar, Dr. John David, announced that the Committee of Deans and Directors, in a meeting held on Friday, February 28, 2025, approved a temporary vacation for all students, instructing them to leave the campus and hostels until further notice.
“This decision will remain in effect until the three abducted female students are safely returned and adequate security measures are in place to ensure the safety of lives and property on campus,” Dr. David stated.
The university urged students and staff to remain calm and hopeful as security agencies continue efforts to secure the students’ release.
