The approval request was read by the President of the Senate, Sen. Godswill Akpabio during plenary on Tuesday.

They include Prof. Tukur A. Tukur from North West; Prof. Sunday Ajah (South East), as well as Fayesimi Ibiyemi from Ondo state.

The request has been subsequently referred to the committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to report back as soon as possible.
