Suspected terrorists have raided Birnin Dede village in Kebbi State, killing 13 people and setting seven villages ablaze.
According to a local resident, Malam Umar, the attackers targeted communities in Arewa Local Government Area, reportedly avenging the recent killing of their leader, Maigemu, by a joint security operation in the state.......CONTINUE READING THE ARTICLE FROM THE SOURCE>>>>>
“The terrorists burned down several villages, sparing only one that was protected by soldiers. We seek protection from Allah against this dreaded group,” Malam Umar told reporters via telephone.
The attack came days after Kebbi State security forces, backed by Governor Nasir Idris, eliminated Maigemu, a notorious terrorist leader, as part of efforts to curb violent crimes in the region.
The Kebbi State Police Command is yet to make official comments on the matter.
