Although Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra state did not show presence at the ceremony, other eminent personalities like former governor of the state and presidentiial candidate of the Labour Party, LP, during the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi and the incumbent Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial zone, Sir Victor Umeh, graced the occasion.
Other dignitaries in attendance were the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing, IVM, Chief Innocent Chukwuma; his elder brother, Gabriel Chukwuma of the Gabros International Company, and Labour Party’s governorrship aspirant in the fourth coming 2025 Anambra state gubernatorial election, Chief George Moghalu.
Others included Chief Cosmas Maduka of the Coscharis Group; former Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka; his younger brother, Obinna, who represented Idemili North/South Constituency in the House of Representatives; Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor; the state Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Basil Ejidike, and the National Coordinator of Ikemba Front, one of the late Ifeanyi Ubah’s political support groups, Hon Arinzechukwu Awogu.
Speaking at the ceremony, Obi, Umeh, Chukwuma, Moghalu, Maduka, Chidoka, Ejiofor, Ejidike and Awogu paid glowing tributes to the late Senator and described him as a philanthropist, vibrant politician and a successful businessman to the core.
Describing his death at this tender age of 52 years as very sad and unfortunate, they noted that it was the wish of God to allow him pass on at this age and prayed for the repose of his soul.
Also, they asked the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude since, according to them, it is God that gives and takes.
