The White Knight made the announcement on their official website.
Peseiro has been without a job since leaving his post with Nigeria in March 2024.
The 64-year-old penned an 18-month contract with the 14-time Egyptian champions.
Speaking on the appointment, Peseiro said “Happy, honoured to represent Zamalek! And with a lot of ambition.The work has already begun and this is where all our focus and dedication lies. Making the fans proud is what we want!,” he posted.
The Portuguese is making a return to Egypt having already coached Al Ahly in the 2015/16 season.
Zamalek recently sacked former Tottenham Hotspur manager, Christian Gross paving the way for his appointment.
Peseiro will earn $65,000 monthly in his first six months at the club.
His pay will be increased to $85,000 monthly from next season.
