Human rights activist and convener Omoyele Sowore announced the upcoming fearless protest in October as the next phase of the nationwide #EndBadGovernance protests.

Following the commencement of fuel production at the Dangote Refinery, Fayose, the brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose, criticized the NNPCL for the quality of products from its refinery.

In a post on X, he wrote: “God has exposed the NNPCL cabals. Can diesel be this clean? Our October 1st protest will start at the NNPC and INEC offices. God bless Dangote.”

The Dangote Refinery began producing long-awaited petrol on Monday, September 2, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria’s energy sector.

“For the first time in 28 years, we are producing petroleum spirits in Nigeria. This is a remarkable achievement. There are videos from 1974 showing fuel queues, and those queues still exist. With the production of petrol, this will eliminate all fuel queues in Nigeria,” Aliko Dangote, chairman of Dangote Group, said in an interview with Arise this morning.
