BREAKING: Mojisola Awesu: 7 remanded over murder of Kwara health college student

Trial judge, Justice Ibrahim Yusuf ordered that the seven suspects be remanded in the correctional facility.

The order was sequel to the absence of the counsel to 5th, 6th and 7th defendants in court.

Counsel to the 1st and 4th defendants were not in the court the last time the case was brought up for hearing on February 3, 2025.

Only the the prime suspects, Adebayo Joshua Happiness and Timileyin Kolawole, were remanded in correctional facility as at the last date.

The trial judge who was displeased with the absence of counsel to the 5th, 6th and 7th defendants on Monday, ordered that all the seven defendants be remanded in the correctional facility until the next adjournment on March 4,b2025.

Adebayo Joshua Happiness and Timileyin Kolawole, the prime suspects, were accused of conspiring and causing the death of Mojisola Awesu on August 9, 2024.

Happiness Adebayo and his parents Adebayo Adeniyi and Bukola Adeniyi were accused of conspiring and causing disappearance and destruction of evidence, offenses punishable under the Penal Code Law of Kwara state , 2006.

Adeoye Adeola, Lawal Aminat and Peter Bulus were accused of conspiring and dumping Mojisola’s corpse at a dumpsite along Wara road, Ilorin, a criminal act under the Kwara State Prohibition of Dealing in Human Parts Law, 2018.

DAILY POST recalls that Mojisola was invited by the prime suspect, Adebayo Joshua Happiness, to attend a sendforth graduation party held at a hotel in Ilorin from Offa before she was murdered.
