The tragic incident, which occurred around 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

This was disclosed in a post by security analyst Zagazola Makama on X on Tuesday.

According to Makama, the deceased, a resident of Unguwan Hayin Jadda via Pandogari, had ventured into the Sarari-Mangoro bush to tap honey when he accidentally triggered the explosive, which detonated instantly.

“He unknowingly stepped on the device, leading to a fatal explosion,” Makama reported.

Relatives of the deceased later recovered his remains and buried him according to Islamic rites.

Security agencies have since alerted local stakeholders and residents, particularly those in bandit-prone areas, to exercise extreme caution when moving through remote paths.
