BREAKING: Kwankwaso, Kano Governor Set To Join APC, Says Ex-Buhari Aide

Former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwakwanso, and current governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, are set to dump the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), a former aide to President Muhammadu Buhari said.......➡️CONTINUE READING THE FULL ARTICLES HERE.

Bashir Ahmad, who served as Buhari’s social media aide, made the claim in a post on X.

“Our party, the APC in Kano, is making all possible preparations to welcome Sen. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, along with members of his party, the NNPP, including our Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf,” Ahmad said.

Ahmad made the claim the same day that Delta State governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the former governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, and all elected and political appointees defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.

Pioneer PDP chairman in Delta State, Senator James Manager, who announced their defection at Government House, Asaba, said it was in the best interest of the state.

“We cannot continue to be in a sinking boat,” Manager said. “It is a unanimous agreement. I am the pioneer state chairman of the PDP, but you cannot be in a boat that is already capsizing, because I am a riverine man. Looking at issues the way they are, we have come to the inevitable conclusion to do something else. It is a collective decision for so many reasons.”

Recently, APC chairman Abdullahi Ganduje claimed that the NNPP was dead and the leaders have planned to join the APC.
Ganduje made this disclosure while unveiling a new executive committee for the France chapter of the party in Paris on Monday.

“The NNPP is dead. And it will soon be buried; very, very soon. I’m looking at where we will bury the body. The coffin has already been constructed. What remains now is to dig the grave. And already they are digging the grave very, very soon,” Ganduje said.

“The so-called NNPP national leader, he too, if he says after losing everyone, he wants to come back to us, we will welcome him, because he is coming back home.”

The NNPP has been embroiled in a leadership political crisis, leading to some politicians elected on its platform defecting to the APC.
