The selected, tagged distinguished Sons and Daughters of Kano, included 19 Generals, protecting the territorial integrity of the nation and leading lights in the field of medicine.

Others are academics, senior civil servants serving the motherland with integrity, and those retired without dent.

While unveiling the maiden state banquet, Governor Yusuf said the government was of the indigenes, adding that the “recognition is intended to celebrate the dedication, commitment and milestones of the individuals in their chosen careers to serve as motivation to the younger generation to aspire for excellence.”

SIMILARLY, Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has donated N30 million to the family of Lt.-Col. Thomas Ebisingha Alari.

According to him, the officer was killed in the ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the Timbuktu Triangle of Sambisa Forest.

Donating at the weekend, in Maiduguri, Zulum said: “I extend my condolences to the family of Lt.-Col. Alari and others, who have paid the supreme price for restoring peace in the state.”

He said the state government sent a delegation for the funeral adding: “There was the need to personally extend my condolences on behalf of government and people of the State.”
