Bello is facing charges related to alleged fraud amounting to N110 billion. His arrest on November 26 by EFCC operatives followed months of evasion after the anti-graft agency declared him wanted in April due to unsuccessful attempts to apprehend him.
Earlier in September, Bello responded to an EFCC invitation and appeared at the agency’s Abuja office alongside Usman Ododo, the current governor of Kogi. However, no further action was taken at the time.
