He stated, “It is a blatant lie to say that elections were held here. Nothing happened in Shira LGA on Saturday. I don’t know where they got the results from.”

Shira criticized BASIEC for failing to conduct the elections and accused them of cheating, humiliating, and dejecting the people of Shira. He described the situation as an act of lawlessness by the commission.

“We are annoyed and angry about what was supposed to be an election. Our people were mobilized in anticipation of the elections, but nothing of the sort occurred,” he added.

Hon. Kani Abubakar Faggo, an APC stakeholder in Shira, echoed Shira’s sentiments.

He said, “One thing is certain: God is always on the side of the cheated and against the cheat. We have placed our trust in Him and are waiting to see how He will vindicate us. For now, we are angry with the system.”

Faggo expressed gratitude to his supporters who, despite the disappointment, had waited to cast their votes. He said, “I want to thank our supporters and others who came to the polling stations to vote.

If the elections had been real, there would have been an opportunity to exercise their civic responsibilities.”

He urged his supporters to remain calm and assured them that the party is assessing the situation.

“We are grateful for your support and appeal for your patience as we determine our next steps. We are currently upset and cannot provide a precise course of action until we have calmed down,” he concluded.
