Nation reports that Alhaji Haruna, now elevated to 1st class status, is the eldest son of the late Emir of Ningi, Yunusa Muhammad Ɗanyaya, who passed away about a week ago.
The appointment was announced on Sunday, September 1, in a statement signed by the special adviser to the governor on media and publicity, Mukhtar Gidado.
Born in Ningi in 1956, Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Ɗanyaya previously held the title of Chiroman Ningi. He is married with children.
According to the statement, Governor Mohammed made the appointment in accordance with the powers vested in him under Cap. 24 Item 3(1) of the Bauchi State laws on the Appointment of Emirs and Chiefs, following the recommendation of the kingmakers.
“The Bauchi State Government is confident that the new Emir will continue his late father’s legacy of promoting unity, peace, and development in the Ningi Emirate and Bauchi State as a whole,” the statement read.
