The Executive Secretary of the board, Bilyaminu Shitu, announced this during the disbursement exercise on Wednesday in Dutse.
He explained that the amount would cover gratuities, death benefits, and outstanding pension balances for retirees and the families of deceased workers.
Shitu stated that the 281 beneficiaries were employees of the state and local government civil service, as well as those from local education authorities who either retired voluntarily, reached the statutory retirement age, or passed away while in active service.
He further explained that ₦542 million would be paid to 208 retired staff, while ₦144 million would be disbursed to 47 families of deceased workers.
An additional ₦47 million would be allocated to 26 pensioners who died before completing the mandatory five-year post-retirement period.
Shitu reaffirmed the board’s commitment to ensuring the prompt payment of entitlements to retirees and the relatives of deceased workers.
