Bankole was named in the 38-man provisional squad released by head coach Eric Chelle on Tuesday.
Chelle included five goalkeepers in the squad, which is expected to be reduced to 23 players.
This is the first time Bankole has been invited to the Super Eagles’ main team, having previously been part of the B Team.
The shot-stopper was part of the home-based Super Eagles side that qualified for the 2024 African Nations Championship, CHAN.
“Congratulations to our goalkeeper, Kayode Bankole, on making the Super Eagles’ provisional squad for this month’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, ” the club wrote.
