In a statement made available to Daily Independent, IPOB-PW’s national coordinator, Nwachukwu Emereonye, revealed that the group is considering various options, including fielding a pro-Biafra candidate, backing an aspirant, or supporting Governor Chukwuma Soludo for a second term.
“We are determined to intervene and change the bleak political future of Ndigbo,” Emereonye stated.
“Anambra State’s election is the first step for us, and we have been carefully assessing developments, consulting allies, and forging new partnerships within the Igbo political spectrum,” he said.
He further emphasized the importance of broad consultations, stating that IPOB-PW will engage with different Biafra-aligned groups to reach a consensus on a candidate who can best serve Igbo interests.
“It is high time Ndigbo understood that politics is the key to whatever we seek—whether it is independence or regional autonomy.
“We must work harder to place pro-Biafra figures and members in government offices,” the statement added.
As the Anambra election draws closer, IPOB-PW’s involvement could influence the political landscape, potentially reshaping alliances and voter dynamics within the state.
