He Says He Loves Me Buut He Can’t Pronounce His Own Name
He sent his friend to come and tell me he likes me. I’d met him only once and didn’t talk to him when we met. I asked his friend who sent him, and he said, “Christopher.” “Who’s Christopher?” I asked.......CONTINUE READING THE ARTICLE FROM THE SOURCE>>>>>
Immediately I saw him, I knew it wouldn’t work. His height. I’m not tall, but I’m taller than him. I like my men taller than me. I was courteous and entertaining, and he was too. He didn’t propose after talking to each other for days, so in my mind, we were just friends. Until he tried to kiss me.
I avoided it. He poured his heart out that day. I said no. I gave no reasons, but I kept telling him no. He said he wasn’t going to give up on me, and I said, “Yooo.” Honestly, I was giving myself time to see if I could love him. He came with gifts and took me out very often. He became friends with my friends and asked them to lobby for him.
Aside from his height, he doesn’t know how to pronounce his own name. He calls himself “Chlistopher.” He calls me Dolis. Even after correcting him on several occasions, he still calls me Dolis and corrects himself when I give him a bombastic side-eye.
All was manageable until I introduced my sister to him. “Emelia, meet Christopher. Christopher, this is Emelia, my elder sister.” He stretched out his hand and said, “Nice meeting you, Emeria.”
My sister quickly swallowed her laughter and shook hands with him. My ears have never known rest since that introduction. My sister went home to broadcast the news to everyone, including my parents, that my boyfriend called her Emeria. My mom retorted, “Bring him home. I’ll love to hear my name in his mouth before I approve the relationship.”
My mom is called Lovelace. Naaa, this won’t work, but as he said, he won’t give up on me, and he means it. I want to know, how can I let him down gently without breaking his heart? He deserves better than heartbreak, but I can’t help it. It’s better to let him go than keep him around and feed him hope and cauliflower.
