Immediately I saw him, I knew it wouldn’t work. His height. I’m not tall, but I’m taller than him. I like my men taller than me. I was courteous and entertaining, and he was too. He didn’t propose after talking to each other for days, so in my mind, we were just friends. Until he tried to kiss me.

My sister quickly swallowed her laughter and shook hands with him. My ears have never known rest since that introduction. My sister went home to broadcast the news to everyone, including my parents, that my boyfriend called her Emeria. My mom retorted, “Bring him home. I’ll love to hear my name in his mouth before I approve the relationship.”

My mom is called Lovelace. Naaa, this won’t work, but as he said, he won’t give up on me, and he means it. I want to know, how can I let him down gently without breaking his heart?
