In a separate case, two suspects were arrested in connection with an armed robbery incident that occurred on March 2, 2025, at about 7:30 p.m.
The victims, Abacha Habila, 43, and his brother Yahuza Kefas, were attacked by three armed men while traveling to their village near Kafiyel.
The assailants, wielding cutlasses and sticks, inflicted injuries on Habila’s forehead, causing him to lose control of his motorcycle and fall. They then proceeded to assault both brothers before robbing them of valuables worth ₦1,025,500, including a Boxer motorcycle, women’s wrappers, a cap, insecticide, body creams, and a Tecno keypad phone.
Following a swift investigation, the police arrested Ali Hassan, 20, of Raddawa Village via Ashaka, and Mahrazu Saidu, 19, of Gongila via Bage Ward. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime and implicated an accomplice identified only as Abdu, who remains at large.
The suspects admitted to selling the stolen motorcycle in Bojude, Kwami LGA, for ₦480,000. A search operation led to the recovery of all stolen items except the motorcycle, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect and retrieve the missing vehicle.
The Gombe State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety of residents and urged the public to provide any information that could assist in apprehending the remaining suspects.
