BREAKING: JAMB registers 13,018, as candidates sleep in Jigawa centers

JAMB’s Public Relations Officer, Mukarram Bello Adamu, disclosed this in a statement, noting that the registration was conducted across 12 approved Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers in the state.

According to the statement, the accredited centers include the JAMB head office at Mechanic Village, Dutse, three centers at Federal University, Dutse, Binyamin Usman Polytechnic, Hadejia, Future Map Foundation Centre, Hadejia, and two centers at the Jigawa State College of Education, Gumel.

Other approved centers are the Jigawa State College of Advanced and Remedial Studies, Babura, Jigawa State Institute of Information Technology, Kazaure, Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic, Kazaure and Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa.

The statement further revealed that a total of 1,290,715 candidates have been registered nationwide for the 2025 UTME and Direct Entry.

DAILY POST observed that the candidates were stranded spending two to three days without being registered due to unavailability of centres in the state.

In an interview with some of the candidates, they said they had to spend days in mosques and streets before getting registered.

They called on the JIgawa State Government to consider establishment of centres to relieve the suffering of students as 12 centres would not meet the needs.
