Chairman of the Labour Party National Transition Committee LP-NTC, Alhaji Abdulwaheed Omar, sounded a note of warning while speaking Thursday, in Abuja during the meeting of the FCT Labour Party Elders’ and Stakeholders Forum.
Abdulwaheed Omar further stated that his concern is not to allow numerous ignorant members across the nation to fall victim to being cajoled into losing their money on the purchase of nomination forms through Barrister Julius Abure’s outgone National Working Committee NWC owing to its tenure expiration on the 9th of June 2023.
Omar further emphasized that members and all stakeholders across the Nation should be wary of Abure’s intelligence which is on the negative side as such would end in regrets as INEC has stopped recognizing him as the National Chairman of the party after the purported Nnewi convention which contradicts consent agreement of the party which INEC was a party to.
Omar said, “What we are doing is to change the narratives of bad leadership in the country, not just a target at Abure and his group. But we know him as a man who is highly intelligent in negativity.
The gathering today is worthwhile, and all we need is to transform the labor party to benefit all Nigerians. It is also pertinent to say that the wrong choice of leadership denied the party about 35 percent of its votes during the 2023 presidential election because the part becomes transactional”.
Meanwhile, The LP-NTC Chairman has assured members of the FCT Labour party that the NTC supports in all ramifications. ” I assure you that all these problems will come to an end in the next two weeks and activities of the committee shall kick off in Ernest good a thing that the labor party in FCT is not taking part in the ongoing Local government Congresses so you people still have ample time to prepare and before then the party will be well positioned to prevail at all time”.
Also speaking, the Chairman of NTC contact and mobilization, Engineer Daniel Gambo, stressed the need for all Nigerians to identify with a party that remained incorporated since its emergence into Nigerian space and a party that has come to serve the interest of the masses. ” we have been and seen all the parties in the past and the only one remaining is the labor party and that is why we should not allow it to be messed up by people who do not have the interest of the masses at heart”.
General Essien Enang (Rtd), a member of the National body of the Labour Party Elders’ Forum and Chairman of the NTC Sub-committee on Security, assured the FCT chapter of no cause for panic as Abure’s threat could not evaporate from its cup of origin. “When you look around, you can find out for yourselves the caliber of people sitting before you, and that is because they all saw reasons to be here when I rallied around despite busy schedules. It is because of the unity of purpose driven by the passion for good political platform”.
Speaking earlier, the Convener of the program, and Chairman of the FCT labour party Elders’Forum, Elder Chika Nwobu, while welcoming the visiting members of the LP-NTC, pledged loyalty to the Abdulwaheed Omar-led NTC, with the emphasis that the FCT Labour Party is out to rewrite the wrongs of injustice in the country.
He said that the outgone Barrister Julius Abure NWC, in the past hijacked the party for personal interests and to the detriment of the party in general. ” the FCT Labour party and the Elders forum, is strongly ready to ensure that labor party takes over the leadership of FCT six area councils when the elections come underway. As you can see, all the area councils are here represented, and they are all here with the forum of area council aspirants, including councilors and Chairmen. We are still working, and the outcome comes with surprises.
One of the Chairmanship aspirants Nonso Okeke popularly known as Dangwari, who spoke on behalf of the Chairmanship aspirants, known as the ‘G6’, assured that the platform given to them would assure victory across the six area councils” Let me reassure the NTC that the party with one Senator and House of Representative members that the party laid down a solid foundation in the FCT which has given us enablement and a solid platform. We won’t let you down as the victory will be 6 over 6″.
No so Okeke, further revealed that the forum of FCT wards and Local government aspirants under the labor party has decided not to dance to the tune of broken calabash and had conducted itself under the NTC with the hope of doing the right thing with the right people. “despite victimization, we are hell-bent in standing with the NTC and its programs”.
