The Reds stormed into the League Cup final with a commanding 4-1 aggregate win over Tottenham and currently lead the Premier League by six points with a game in hand. They also topped their Champions League group and will look to progress further in the FA Cup when they visit Championship side Plymouth on Sunday.

No English club has ever won the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, and Champions League in a single season, but Slot remains optimistic about Liverpool’s chances.

“We are in a good place, but we also know how long the season still is and how many difficult challenges there will be,” he said. “I’m not expecting us to win every game like we did yesterday, but we just try to do everything to win every single football match.”

Slot also heaped praise on captain Virgil van Dijk, who sealed Liverpool’s victory against Spurs but continues to face speculation over his future as his contract nears its end.

“Virgil deserves every compliment he gets. He’s been outstanding for this club for so many years, and since I’ve been here, he’s been outstanding for me as well,” Slot said. “He, like many others, has had a good season, but he wants to make it a great season.”

With a hectic schedule ahead, including five Premier League fixtures in 15 days starting with a Merseyside derby against Everton on Wednesday, Slot confirmed he will rotate his squad for the trip to Plymouth.

Trent Alexander-Arnold remains sidelined with injury but could return in time for Liverpool’s final league clash at Goodison Park.
