Nwosu in a statement in Awka said he was “shocked beyond words on the reported discovery of the remains of Hon. Justice Azuka, the Labour Party member representing Onitsha North Constituency in the Anambra State Assembly”.
Nwosu who had repeatedly called on the Anambra State Government not to spare any resources in securing his release, noted that Hon. Azuka was the second member of the present House of Assembly to be kidnapped and murdered in similar circumstance.
Nwosu wrote: ” it is most regrettable that another serving member of the State Assembly, has been lost to kidnappers during the present administration. These developments do not in any way inspire trust or confidence in the general public on the government’s capacity and willingness to protect her citizens.
“If elected officers can fall prey to kidnappers, whither the fate of private citizens?”, he queried.
He urged that If it is true, as reported that his abductors and killers have been arrested, then the full weight of Justice must be brought to bear on the culprits.
“There must be Justice for Justice Azuka!
“On behalf of myself and my Campaign Organization, I pray for the peaceful repose of the deceased and fortitude for his family to bear this irreparable and very painful loss,” he concluded
