It would be remembered that Hutchings had recounted what she described as a harrowing experience at the Ashluxury store in Lekki, Lagos. The incident, which also involved veteran actress Shan George and three others, accordibg to her, has left her deeply traumatised.
According to Hutchings’ social media post, the ordeal began when she and George made a brief stop outside the store to await an Uber ride. Despite the absence of clear no-parking signs, adequate lighting, or visible security measures, they were abruptly confronted by a group of unidentified men.

The situation escalated rapidly, with the men aggressively demanding they leave and resorting to intimidation tactics.

Hutchings claims that despite the intervention of her security detail, the confrontation turned violent. The assailants allegedly banged on their car, threatened to damage it, and ultimately deployed tear gas directly into the vehicle while she and Shan George were inside. The actress has revealed that she required medical attention following the terrifying ordeal.
Hutchings’ account had sparked outrage and calls for a thorough investigation into the incident.
‘There was no violence or weapon from my side, the man who claimed to be a policeman was only wearing a white kaftan and intentionally sprayed tear gas at me. Shan George and other occupants of the vehicle, he later went into the ash luxury premises to change to his police uniform and brought out a gun to shoot,’ She said.
Shan George also expressed deep concern about potential long-term health effects from the incident, urging a comprehensive investigation into the store’s operating procedures.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, a visibly distressed George demanded accountability for the traumatic experience.
‘There has been no public or private apology or acknowledgment from the brand regarding the life-threatening event, nor any effort to hand out the attackers to the proper authorities,’ she said.
Carolyna revealed on Instagram that she was hospitalised in the aftermath of the terrifying ordeal.
Meanwhile, Ashluxury issued a statement titled “Ashluxury Response to Incident at Flagship Store” acknowledging the incident at their Lekki location. They clarified that the altercation involved their outsourced security personnel and members of the public. The company explained that due to the significant public attention, they have been advised to refrain from making any public or private comments on the matter. Ashluxury emphasised that the case is currently under police investigation and urged all parties to await the outcome of the investigation.
“As a brand we do not condone any form of violence, assault or harassment of any person including our employees and contractors,” part of the statement reads.
“We remain committed to the highest standard of customer care and corporate responsibility.”
In an updated story posted by Carolyna Hutching , she noted Yinka of Ashluxe has reached out to apologised.
Carolyna, however in a statement made available to Independent said she is bent on ensuring justice is serves as her legal and management will be following closely with the police concerning the case.
