The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has been accused of using land revocations as a tool for political vendetta......Read The Full Article>>.....Read The Full Article>>
Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, alleged that Wike’s actions are designed to persecute and oppress “members of opposition political parties” intending to run “against President Bola Tinubu in 2027.”
Frank, in a statement on Saturday, described the revocation of land titles as “nothing but a Nollywood script,” citing the purported revocation of Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) belonging to prominent individuals, including former President Muhammadu Buhari and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas.
Recall that both Buhari and Abbas have denied owning the land or being indebted to the FCTA, respectively.
Frank claimed that Wike is using the names of high-profile individuals as a cover to deflect criticism of his land-grabbing spree and demolitions of properties in the FCT, which have targeted poor and innocent Nigerians.
He challenged Wike to provide proof that top APC members listed as having their lands revoked actually owned the properties in question.
Frank warned that Wike’s actions are not new, citing his history of revoking C of O and demolishing properties belonging to political opponents during his tenure as Governor of Rivers State.
He urged members of opposition parties and those who have opposed Wike in the past to prepare for similar treatment.
