“In partnership with private stakeholders, the state will introduce traffic management systems, including road signage, traffic lights, and pedestrian crossings in major towns,” Zulum said.

He said rehabilitation of damaged highways, particularly the critical Maiduguri-Damaturu road, will also be prioritized to enhance road safety and ensure safer travel for residents.

“The ministry will also organize sports tournaments to engage youths and discover talents across the state,” the governor stated, adding that the initiatives aim to channel youth energy into productive ventures and reduce unemployment.

“Empowering our youth through sports and entrepreneurship is a key pillar of our recovery strategy,” Zulum stated.

The governor highlighted the allocation of N15.8bn to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development to complete the construction of 100,000 housing units for displaced persons in Monguno, Konduga, and Ngala.
