Governor Mutfwang made this pledge through his Senior Special Assistant on Middle Belt Nationalists, Hon. Dan Kwada, at a seminar organized by the Conference of Autochthonous Ethnic Communities Development Association (CONAECDA) at the weekend in Jos.
Dan Kwada emphasized that the Governor remains dedicated to fulfilling his campaign promise to resettle displaced persons, revealing that significant progress has already been made.
He also called on CONAECDA leaders to continue to fostering unity among ethnic groups to drive sustainable development, assuring them of the government’s continued support.
In his words ” In preparation for their resettlement, the state government has provided farming equipment to assist displaced persons in cultivating crops, ensuring they can return to a life of self-reliance,” DanKwada added.
On his part, Dr. Zuwanhu Bonket, National President of CONAECDA, commended Governor Mutfwang’s policies and emphasized the association’s alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s vision of resettling displaced persons across the country.
National Coordinator Dr. Joseph Gwankat, who also leads the Mwaghavu Development Association, praised the Plateau State government for complementing CONAECDA’s activities.
He lamented the severe impact of attacks on the group’s members, noting that CONAECDA represents communities from 15 northern states.
A communique made available to newsmen after the meeting and jointly signed by

They also called for the strengthening of community based early warning and early response system.
The communiqué reads that “after considering the reports from communities displaced by violent conflicts, conference resolved that ,”we call on government to focus on providing security to deter further displacements of innocent citizens in rural communities “.
They also called on government to provide security to enable communities to return to their ancestral homes.
“Government and donor partners should continue to assist displaced communities in such a way as to reduce the impact of displacement on affected individuals and families.”
“Government and donor partners should assist in Reconstructing and returning displaced communities.”
“CONAECDA to activate the collection of the community Intervention funds to be used for rebuilding and rehabilitating displaced communities.”
The communiqué also reads that CONAECDA should re-invigorate the National Front-line Of communities and the Community Situation rooms to manage the Process of Securing and returning victims based on the S3RP approved Project.
