A coalition of youth groups known as Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed Vanguard (BAM-V) has accused Yakubu Dogara for using Governor Bala Mohammed as a stepping stone to gain political relevance. This was contained in a press statement, signed by its Director-general, Comrade Mohammed Abubakar Jibo, and copies made available to journalists in Bauchi......READ THE FULL STORY>>.....READ THE FULL STORY>>
Recall that Dogara had faulted Governor Bala Mohammed for outrightly castigating the policies of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu which he said had inflicted hardship on Nigerians.
According to the DG, “It is no longer news that Yakubu Dogara suddenly woke up from his self-induced slumber and chose Governor Governor Bala Mohammed to seek relevance in the Nigerian political landscape once again.
“Dogara having gone into political oblivion as a result of his antics in the run-up to the 2023 Presidential Election when he did not only come out to oppose his APC standard bearer on the flimsy excuse of opposing a Muslim/Muslim ticket by the party after his failure to be selected as the vice-presidential candidate to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“He miscalculated the supposed popularity of the candidate he later pitched his tents with in the elections and lost together with the candidate at the polls.
“Dogara chose Governor Bala Mohammed to use as a stepping stone for political relevance for a wrong reason, saying that the Governor criticized the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for its bad policies currently inflicting untold hardship on Nigerians which led to the August 1-10 #EndBadGovernance protests across Nigeria”
“The Governor, being a responsible, focused and popular leader who feels the pains of the people of his state and Nigerians in general, did not mince words at the flag off of the People’s Democracy Party (PDP), local government council elections campaigns in Bauchi State. Governor Mohammed lamented the hardship brought on Nigerians by the anti-people policies of the Federal Government and warned that at this rate, the PDP will make President Tinubu its campaign director in 2027”
“Like every Nigerian citizen, the Governor has his constitutional guaranteed right to express his feelings about the ways things are going in this country and also to advise the Federal Government to the the right things with a view to bring huge succour to the people who did not commit any sins in voting the President to power”
“By this, Governor Mohammed had aptly demonstrated that he is not a leader that will choose to bury his heads in the sand like the Ostrich when things are going wrong. He has been noted overtimes to always rise up, speak truth to those in power, thereby standing for the truth.
“He showed this in 2010 on the floor of the Senate when he moved the motion for the transmission of power to the then Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan at a time then President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua was critically sick and a cabal was holding the country by the jugular then.
” The then Bauchi South Senator’s motion, referred to as “Doctrine of Necessity”, no doubt, was a game changer in the annals of Nigeria that, no doubt, not only eased tension in the polity but also brought peace to the Nation. For such person to now sit and watch Nigerians being subjected to economic hardship through the policies of Dogara’s party is to say the lest wicked.
“Though Dogara acknowledged the fact that Nigeria is currently going through a trying moment with lots of nerves in the air and lots of spitting into the political wind, he woefully failed to stand for the people, including those he represented in the House of Representatives, which gave him the chance of becoming the Speaker, even though it was against APC’s wish.
” One pertinent question to ask here is, must every leader behave like Dogara by playing politics when the wellbeing of Nigerians are at stake? Why did he chose Governor Bala Mohammed to lash on when thousands of Nigerians are clearly condemning the economic policies of the President Tinubu-led administration that have brought untold hardships to the people to the extent that Nigerians have never had it so bad like this”
“Dogara’s harangue on the Governor is nothing but a huge failure. No doubt about it, Dogara’s “In Governor Bala Mohammed’s latest tirade and truculent buffoonery” is nothing but a failed attempt by a drowning man to hold on to a weak straw to propel in to political relevance believing that his unprovoked expletives will bring back to the good and reckoning of President Tinubu and the APC, which he not only turned his backs to but also worked against openly in the 2023 Presidential Election.
“His desperation is quiet understandable but he chose the wrong prey to seek redemption from the political orphanage he threw himself with his miscalculated moves. His latest attempt clearly shows his inconsistency. One wonders if it is the same Dogara who joined forces with Senator Bala Mohammed against the then incumbent Governor M.A. Abubakar to unseat the latter and who is now claiming a non-performance on the part of Governor Bala Mohammed. Isn’t that laughable?
“The Bauchi people are not political neophytes but highly sophisticated. Governor Bala Mohammed would not have won a second term in office if Dogara’s non-performance claim is anything to go by. But the people of the state, being satisfied that Bala Mohammed did perform well in his first term in office, promptly rewarded him with a second term in office to keep the good work going when they were not satisfied with the performance of the APC government in the state 2019.
“The people did not hesitate in showing the inept government the way out and replaced same with Senator Bala Mohammed, who justified the people’s confidence in him by performing well to earn a second term in office” he said
