Addressing the issue on X (formerly Twitter), Ubi clarified, “I am the CEO of Mademusicg. If you see me working with Davido, it’s because I have the qualifications and experience required for the job. David calls me #TheSolutionist—take that however you wish.”
The comments follow a history of jests about Ubi’s role, with artist Timaya once referring to him as a “nanny” in 2022. Davido himself joined the banter in October 2023 during a jet trip, playfully calling Ubi a nanny. However, Ubi insists that such remarks don’t bother him and that his position involves strategic business administration, not personal assistance.
“I’m not a PA or nanny, as some of you like to taunt me. If labeling me that makes you happy, go ahead. I’m focused on the business side, and that’s where I’ll always be,” he added.
The statement underscores Ubi Franklin’s extensive experience in the music industry, managing artists and navigating business opportunities. Despite the light-hearted teasing, his role in Davido’s team is rooted in professionalism and expertise.
