BREAKING: Sule Lamido, Gowon, Murtala, Obasanj, And Buhari All Had The Support Of An Institute, but Tinubu Is Unique.

Sule Lamido, the former governor of Jigawa State, President Bola Tinubu’s political path is different from that of his predecessors. The former foreign minister claims that leaders like Muhammadu Buhari, Olusegun Obasanjo, Murtala Muhammad, and Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi were more influenced by the organizations and groups that supported them than by their individual personalities......See Full Story>>.....See Full Story>>

In a recent interview with Daily Trust, Lamido made this claim while delving extensively into Nigerian administration and the internal strife roiling his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Lamido responded, “I am not wallowing,” when asked why he remained in the PDP in spite of the divide among the opposition party. I’m only saying that Nigeria has given me a lot, including the opportunity to develop and reach my current level of success. I therefore concentrate on ways to give back and open doors for others. This goes beyond the personal. Building something significant for future generations is the goal; no Nigerian leader achieves their current status by themselves.

That’s right. None of them were created solely by their personalities; rather, they were the result of organizations and environments that gave them authority. But Tinubu is not like that. His personality, not any institutional support, is what defines him most. Lamido clarified his assertions that no Nigerian leader achieves their current status by himself when he remarked, “Buhari tried four times and couldn’t win alone, which shows it wasn’t just about him.”

The former governor responded, “If it were for the country’s benefit it would be worth celebrating,” when asked if Tinubu’s political abilities should be recognized and commended. This feels different, though. The rule, which aims to consolidate authority like a pharaoh, is pharaonic.

Yes, a leader who can actually help others change for the better. However, it is still unclear if Nigerians are prepared to follow a “Moses” figure and make the required sacrifices. Sincerely, I don’t think so. When asked if Nigeria needed a Moses to guide it to its promised land, he continued, “The people here are, in a sense, like Pharaoh’s people—resistant to the changes we need.” The APC Crisis of Today Is Caused by PDP Problems Speaking further on Nigeria’s political landscape, Lamido pointed out that a large number of influential members of the current All Progressives Congress (APC) were formerly members of the PDP.

Thus, in a sense, the internal disputes inside the PDP gave rise to the APC itself, Lamido

However, the present president was never a member of the PDP, according to the interview. “True,” Lamido replied, “but almost 90% of today’s APC members were PDP members. Consider the National Assembly, which consists of numerous governors, the Speaker of the House, the Senate President, his deputy, and other important members. Nearly every important member of the PDP from that era is now in the APC.

Lamido stated, “Ancient?,” in reference to the idea that some people would claim his narrations are just ancient history. What about those in charge of the National Assembly and the federal government? They are modern, not antiquated. However, they create the APC, a paralyzed half. For both parties to go ahead, their frustrations must be put aside. They ought to consider how Nigeria has benefited them and make amends for the good of the nation. If not, how can the PDP remain strong when some of its members are in the APC?

The PDP that ruled from 1999 to 2014, in my opinion, was the authentic PDP. Both a good and a bad PDP were in place. The administration that has been in power since 2014 is a poor PDP. However, I think those who accused the PDP of corruption and defected to the APC ought to think twice and cooperate to address Nigeria’s issues,” Lamido said.

However, he emphasized that in order to restore the PDP, he and other stakeholders are working and maintaining the confidentiality of their initiatives.
