According to the Commands Spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga in a statement on Monday, the CP commenced the Security/Anti-Sit at Home assessment patrol from Awka South local government area council where he charged resident, community leaders and heads of the LGA to work in synergy with the police and report suspicious persons.
He said the CP also gave insight to the murder incident at Nibo and Ifite two weeks ago, revealing that the command is already on the trail of some mentioned suspects.
He said: “The Commissioner of Police CP Name Obono Itam today 4/11/2024 begins security advocacy on Anti Sit at home and security assessment in the twenty-one (21) Local Government Areas in Anambra State.
“The Security/Anti Sit at Home assessment patrol started with a visit to the Awka South Local Government Area Council by the Commissioner of Police.
“He charged the executive council members, the traditional rulers, the president general of the communities, youth leaders, Anambra State Vigilantes Operatives, PCRC members and other stakeholders to continue to work with the Police and other security agencies on the need to adopt sustainable policing practices to improve security surveillance and timely security interventions in the state, urges residents alike to report suspicious persons and unusual movement they may observe to the nearest Police Station or through the Command Emergency number call 07039194332 for a prompt response.
“Also the CP reacted to the murder incident at Nibo and Ifite last two weeks and stated that the Command is on trail for some already mentioned suspects involved in the act.
“The CP led anti-sit at-home patrol within the State, places visited include Ogidi Divisional headquarters, Obosi Divisional Headquarters Okpoko Divisional Headquarters, Harbour Divisional Headquarters, Awada Divisional Headquarters etc. “
