Abiodun expressed confidence in the party’s strength, noting that the APC has delivered on its promises and is well-positioned to win. He highlighted the administration’s efforts to democratize governance and enhance infrastructure, bringing development closer to the people.

Speaking during a Friday meeting with the 20 APC chairmanship candidates, their running mates, 236 councillorship candidates, and local government party chairmen, Abiodun affirmed that APC remains the party to beat in the November 16 polls. He expects the APC to secure both chairmanship and councillorship positions in all 20 local government areas.

“I trust you’ve met with other candidates and reconciled with them in the spirit of unity,” Abiodun said. “This election requires harmony within our ranks to ensure we avoid discord or division in the party.”

The governor emphasized that the candidate selection was deliberate, choosing capable individuals to lead locally. “There are no accidental candidates. We’ve carefully chosen each of you, and I take this election very seriously to ensure strong leadership in our local governments.”

Abiodun encouraged candidates to embody the administration’s ‘ISEYA’ mantra, representing its vision in their local campaigns. He noted that the people of Ogun appreciate the APC-led government’s progress and seek similar proactive leadership at the grassroots level.

The governor also announced forthcoming projects, including a deep-sea port, naval base, and dockyard in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area. He cited accomplishments such as building over 700 kilometers of roads, 4,000 housing units, rehabilitating more than 120 Primary Health Care Centres, and refurbishing 1,000 classrooms across the state.

Earlier, APC state chairman Chief Yemi Sanusi urged candidates to campaign actively to secure victory for the party.
