In an exclusive interview with ABN TV, Kalu alleged that individuals who defected from PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Labour Party were those with questionable integrity, seeking protection or hungry for power.
He specifically mentioned Governor Alex Otti, a former PDP member, as one of those who left the party after failing to secure a ticket in 2015.
Kalu emphasized that PDP is now “born again,” comprising only members with self-confident integrity and nothing to hide.
He criticized defectors, including Adolphus, who allegedly campaigned against PDP candidates and collected money from the governor to host his birthday.
Looking ahead to 2027, Kalu expressed confidence in PDP’s resurgence, citing its structures across the state and presence in every Abia family. He challenged the Labour Party, led by Governor Otti, to prove its commitment to integrity, given its leader’s history of defections.
