The board’s Executive Chairman, Dr Kabir Magaji, stated this in Katsina on Thursday at a press briefing on the activities of the board in the past one year.
He said that the funds would be used to construct about 48 new primary schools and rehabilitate some existing ones.
Magaji revealed that the funds would also be utilised to procure basic facilities for the schools.
The Chairman explained that the state had received over N13.5 billion matching grants from the UBEC and the World Bank project -Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) during the period under review.
He pointed out that the funds were for implementation of projects in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
Magaji also revealed that the board had trained more than 17,000 out of its 30,000 teachers, in different capacities in the past one year.
“So, we have trained about 70 percent of our teachers within one year, which is a remarkable achievement,” he said.
He assured that the state government would continue to invest in the education sector in view of its importance to nation building.
