According to a statement issued to newsmen over the weekend by Hon. Attoh’s Chief Press Secretary, Benjamin Atu, the Etsako East Local Government Chairman has charged the people of the council to remain steadfast and committed to the PDP and brace themselves for an assured victory.
The statement read: “As Senator Francis Alimikhena joined the opposition party ahead of the upcoming Edo Governorship election on Saturday, the Executive Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Council Hon (Princess) Benedicta Attoh has charged the people of the council to remain steadfast and committed to the PDP and brace themselves for an assured victory by constituting themselves as a one-man liberation army, driven by passion to elect a Governor who can heal all that ails us.

“She described the future of Edo as a collective enterprises, that we must all resolve to sefeguide by voting for a Governor who can create an economic system that allows our people to choose their own development model in order to construct and build an economy that can function for the masses. The only Party that has such a formidable candidate is the PDP she said.

“Hon. (Princess ) Benedicta Attoh who dismissed fears of losing Etsako East due to Senator Francis Alimikhena’s defection, said power belongs to God and that she is more prepared for an assured victory for the PDP on Saturday. ‘Let no man’s heart fail him for those with us are greater than what the eyes can see. We have a candidate who has lived a campaign perfect life, assuring that Asue Ighodalo will win the Saturday Governorship election.’
“The council Chairman who was reacting to the defection fears in some quarters, said, Etsako East stands on the strength of the Masses and not on an individual. “The majority are with us and election is about numbers not individual status”.
The statement signed by her Chief Press Secretary Benjamin Atu who was the former Personal Assistant and Spokesman to Senator Francis Alimikhena, called on the people to resist the temptation of following anyone to any other party saying, the hardship, sinking economy, starvation, joblessness, increase in insecurity and the unstable value of the Naira that has made Nigeria a laughing stock in the comity of nations is a sufficient reasons why no one should cast their votes for the APC.
According to the statement, it’s time to vote for capacity rather than political party. Asue Ighodalo represents a governor who can provide hope in the midst of a crisis and guide the State through difficult economic situations with renewed hope and commitment. Ighodalo is prepared to engage the rest of the world in creating jobs and prosperity for all Edo people. It’s time to fulfil our sacred duty in our quest for a better state that will keep us all together.
While reaffirming her support and stand for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the Etsako East Council Chairman urged youths and women to vote for Ighodalo in his determination to create a new Edo State where everyone’s dreams can be realised.
