According to DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the police spokesperson, the incident unfolded in Bagata Gabas village, Kiyawa Local Government Area, where Zahra’u and her ex-lover, Lawan Musa, 22, are accused of orchestrating the attack.
Shiisu confirmed that Zahra’u poisoned her husband’s meal, which he then shared with two of his friends. Shortly after consuming the food, all three individuals experienced severe stomach pains, and one of the friends succumbed to the illness while undergoing treatment.
The police have initiated an ongoing investigation into the case, with authorities working to uncover further details surrounding the tragic incident. The outcome of the investigation is yet to be revealed.
